Full-Mouth Reconstruction

Recently, we discussed restorative dentistry and the options available to improve your smile. Today, we’d like to discuss a full-mouth reconstruction. If you’re unhappy with your smile and want a beautiful mouth both inside and out, this could be a good option for you.

A full-mouth reconstruction uses a blend of cosmetic and restorative techniques to improve both the health and appearance of your smile. Dr. Dallmann will have a smile consultation with you beforehand to go over issues and concerns you have and create a treatment plan. We can also use sedation dentistry to help ease your nerves and fears about the procedures. It will be over before you know it!

Some of the restorative dentistry techniques we can use include crowns, bridges, dentures and dental implants. Some of the cosmetic dentistry techniques we can use include whitening treatments and porcelain veneers.

Give us a call today to learn more about our full-mouth reconstruction services and to get started on your plan to a new, beautiful smile!

Sedation Dentistry Isn’t Just for Dental Anxiety

In a recent blog post, we highlighted the different sedation dentistry options available from our Independence dental office. We also indicated in that post that one of the major reasons patients use sedation dentistry is to overcome dental anxiety. But dental anxiety isn’t the only reason patients put off or avoid care. Today we’d like to discuss two more.

Avoiding Care Because of Pain

For some patients, what’s standing in the way of a beautiful, healthy smile isn’t fear but pain. Neuromuscular conditions can make it difficult to hold your mouth open for long periods of time, while neck, shoulder, or back pain can making sitting comfortably for any length of time a struggle. Sedation dentistry can ease concerns about all of this by creating a sense of calm that lets Dr. Dallmann complete essential dental work.

Avoiding Care Because of a Busy Schedule

Other patients may avoid care for a reason that has nothing to do with anxiety or pain—it’s simply a matter of time. Today, more than ever before, our lives are controlled and shaped by deadlines and schedules. As a result, we end up cutting corners, and that includes cutting corners in the area of our health.

But avoiding care, oral or otherwise, is never a good idea. Instead of making matters better, it will only increase your need for seeing a doctor. With sedation dentistry from Gentle Dental Care, we can limit the number of appointments you’ll need by making it possible for Dr. Dallmann to complete more work in a single visit, reducing the amount of time you’ll be away from your normal schedule.

Do You Still Have Questions?

If you still have questions about sedation dentistry, our Independence team would love to help. Call Gentle Dental Care today to schedule a visit with us or to ask a question.

Give Your Smile the Care It Needs with Sedation Dentistry

In our last post, we described many of the services we offer, including our sedation dentistry services, which include nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. In today’s post, we’d like to talk more about each of these. After all, for many patients, sedation dentistry is what makes care possible. By offering sedation dentistry, Dr. Dallmann can help more people in our community enjoy great oral health.

Nitrous Oxide

If the name “nitrous oxide” doesn’t ring any bells, you’re probably more familiar with its other name—laughing gas. As one of our most effective sedation options, nitrous oxide can help patients who would describe their anxiety as mild, and its effects only last for as long as you’re breathing it in, meaning you’ll feel great enough to drive yourself home after your appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For patients who would describe their anxiety level as mild to moderate, oral conscious sedation can be a great choice. Oral conscious sedation uses a safe, effective prescription sedative that you’ll take one hour before your appointment. It doesn’t wear off as quickly as nitrous oxide does, though, so you’ll need to have a friend or family member with you to drive you home after your appointment is over.

IV Sedation

If you would describe your anxiety as moderate to severe, IV sedation lets Dr. Dallmann provide a maximum level of comfort. In this case, the sedative is delivered intravenously and is a great choice for patients who are coming in for long, complex procedures. As with oral conscious sedation, though, using IV sedation requires that you have someone with you to drive you home afterwards.

Great Services for Independence-Area Patients

As part of our general dentistry services, we perform checkups and professional cleanings, in addition to checking for signs of TMJD and treating both gum disease and tooth decay. And for those who need restorative care Dr. Dallmann can help with full-mouth reconstruction, crowns, dentures, and dental implants.

Relaxing Care with Sedation Dentistry

Every year, many patients all across the country put off important dental care because of anxiety or because they have trouble sitting for long periods of time. That’s why we offer sedation dentistry. With sedation dentistry, patients who might avoid care can enjoy a comfortable, relaxing visit. There are three forms of sedation dentistry currently available—nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. At Gentle Dental Care in Independence, we offer all three, and in our next post we’ll tell you more about each one.

In the meantime, if you’re ready to schedule a visit with us, call our office. We serve patients from as far away as Loveland, Ohio, to Dry Ridge, Kentucky. Come experience comfortable, comprehensive care with Dr. Dallmann and our great team.
